‘ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS’ BY TRINBAGO KNIGHT RIDERS COACH PHIL SIMMONS

Due to a slow over-rate breach, Trinbago Knight Riders were the unlucky beneficiaries of a new CPL regulation. Despite captain Kieron Pollard guided his team to a six-wicket victory over St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Pollard expressed his dissatisfaction with the regulation during the match and emphasized the potential negative consequences moving forward. The individual removed after the red card was displayed was Sunil Narine.

As the first cricket team to be sent out for a slow over-rate breach, Trinbago Knight Riders made history—for all the wrong reasons.
The event occurred during a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) game between the Knight Riders and the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, where the new rule was broken.
According to the rules, a fielding team must bring one more fielder inside the 30-yard circle if they start their 18th over after the appointed time.

Another fielder will be sent in to ensure that there are only three out of the circle if they are tardy at the start of the 19th over.
The fielding team will be given a red card and will have to remove a fielder of their choosing from the field if the pattern persists into the final over.
After that, they would only have 10 players left, including the wicketkeeper and bowler. This means that just two of the remaining fielders can stand outside the circle, while the other six will have to stay inside it.
After the referee brandished the red card, Knight Riders skipper Kieron Pollard choose Sunil Narine to miss the final over.
