Although Chelsea has yet to recruit a new striker this window, as they had hoped, they have already been buoyed by the early arrival of one.
As you are aware, the AFCON is currently underway, which means that Premier League clubs will lose a number of their top players for an extended period of time, depending on how far their club progresses in the tournament.
Nicolas Jackson, who was representing Senegal at AFCON, was Chelsea’s major loss. They advanced from the group stage, but fortunately for Chelsea, and unfortunately for Jackson and Senegal, they were eliminated from the competition after losing on penalties to Ivory Coast yesterday night!
Senegal will now be back and available for Chelsea’s game against Wolves, however if he had not been knocked out, he may have missed three more Chelsea games!
