Pat Perez and his wife Ashley, who was a major fan of his when he played on the PGA Tour and is now with LIV Golf, have split up, according to BroBible. The couple filed for divorce at the Maricopa County Superior Court, and Pat and Ashley have deleted images from their social media accounts. Pat, 47, is worth $13 million and is currently ranked 795th in the Official World Golf Rankings (his best position was 16th). His wife gained notoriety in the golf world for her raucous backing and her remarks directed at Rory McIlroy following the most recent Ryder Cup.
In 2023, Team Europe defeated Team America to win the Ryder Cup. During the match, McIlroy was spotted yelling at Patrick Cantlay’s caddie, Joe LaCava, in a parking lot. Shane Lowry, a teammate from Team Europe, intervened to diffuse the situation, but Ashley Perez took to Instagram to express her genuine feelings for McIlroy.
But Ashley Perez posted on Instagram after McIlroy turned on Cantley, saying, “I can’t possibly be the only one that would absolutely love to watch Rory get punched in the face And I mean that in the nicest possible way… kinda.”
Ashley was a touch too forthcoming on social media at other times as well. In 2022, for example, she brought up the legendary golfer Tiger Woods’ past driving infractions following an accident.
Fans demanded that Woods be provided a golf cart to use on the course after his car crashed in February 2022 since his injuries made it difficult for him to walk. After Woods was found guilty of DUI in 2017, Ashley did not feel sorry for him.
Essentially, the reason it is illegal to drive when intoxicated. Perez posted on Instagram, “I don’t feel bad for him,” in response to supporters who demanded that Woods be allowed to use a golf cart. “Thank God no one was killed by him. “See ya,” she said.
Before he met Ashley at a Las Vegas dinner, Pat Perez’s first marriage ended in divorce. After getting married on New Year’s Eve of 2014, the couple had two kids together. Pat continues to mention his kids on social media, but he no longer makes public any mention of Ashley.
Although Ashley’s case was successful, their divorce is not yet complete, but it looks they will part ways formally in 2024. As he extends his stay in LIV, Pat has re-signed with Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces for the 2024 campaign after becoming a free agent.
