Dolphins Thanksgiving Day Disaster
The Miami Dolphins had a disastrous Thanksgiving game at Lambeau Field, losing 30-17 to the Green Bay Packers. The game started off strong for the Dolphins, but things quickly took a turn for the worse after rookie Malik Washington muffed the first punt, giving the Packers a prime scoring opportunity.
The Dolphins’ first offensive drive was marred by avoidable mistakes, including three penalties that stymied their progress. Among them was a costly 15-yard personal foul against Jonnu Smith, further setting back Miami’s momentum. By the time the first half drew to a close, Green Bay held a commanding 24-3 advantage.
Despite showing some promise with a resolute touchdown drive capped by a two-point conversion, the Dolphins faltered in the red zone later on. An offensive push that reached the Packers’ 1-yard line ultimately came up empty—a missed opportunity that could’ve narrowed Green Bay’s lead significantly.
In the aerial attack, Jonnu Smith proved to be Tua Tagovailoa’s most dependable target, snagging 10 of 11 passes for a team-leading 113 yards. On the other side of the field, Green Bay’s Jordan Love was masterful, demonstrating poise and avoiding interceptions while carving through the Dolphins’ secondary for 274 yards and two touchdowns.
The Dolphins’ play of the game came courtesy of De’Von Achane’s 14-yard touchdown, but it was not enough to save them from a costly defeat. Unfortunately for Miami, their fate was sealed when they couldn’t convert a critical possession with nine minutes left in the game, allowing Green Bay to efficiently close out any chance of a Miami comeback.
As the Dolphins head back to Hard Rock Stadium, they face a must-win game against a New York Jets team currently at 3-8. With the Week 14 matchup on the horizon, it’s an opportunity for Miami to regroup and keep their playoff hopes alive. The Jets, coming off a bye week, will be ready to test Miami’s resolve as they look to build momentum.
