Although Tom Aspinall and Jon Jones are unlikely to fight anytime soon, they have continued to argue on social media. Jones retaliated against the interim heavyweight champion Aspinall by claiming he has “no clue who 90% of his résumé is” following the latter’s social media post of a video of himself ageing while he waits decades for the match. Jones, Aspinall retorted, is letting his “ego run wild”.

After Tom Aspinall again called out the UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones responded with a clap back.
Once Aspinall won the interim heavyweight title at UFC 295, he has set his sights on a matchup with Jones.
It appears unlikely to occur anytime soon, though.
UFC President Dana White has stated that the “legacy fight” between Jones and Stipe Miocic will take place in 2024. Jones recently underwent elbow surgery.
Aspinall has made no secret of his desire to fight Jones, and on Monday he shared a video of himself ageing on social media while he bides decades for the match.

Jones said on X, “Only four recognisable opponents, and already the king of England, must be nice,” suggesting that the clip caught his attention. Legendary stories about you and your notorious call-outs will be shared.
Jones responded, “I mean, it doesn’t really work like that,” to the statement that Aspinall can’t be held responsible for his frustration.

“You can’t show up at thirty years old acting like you’ve been pursuing me your entire life. I was a champion when I was twenty-three years old. 90% of his resume is unknown to me, yet throughout my career, I have highlighted UFC events. What an incredible planet we live in! People can try to disparage your efforts, replace you, and discard you so quickly. The nicest thing about the statistics is that you can see the results of your hard work.

“Whatever role you may be in, be an utter savage at it. Let the work do the talking; ladies and gentlemen, let it be unquestionable in this world. Be unquestionably convincing.

Aspinall said, “Jon you’re letting your ego run wild here mate,” in response to Jones’ remarks.I’m not trying to minimise your impressive resume. Much better than mine. Since you’re regarded as the greatest fighter of all time, that is WHY I want to defeat you. You must be able to comprehend that.

Jones won his most recent fight at UFC 285 in March 2023, defeating Ciryl Gane. He is recuperating from elbow surgery as well as the pectoral ailment that forced him to withdraw from his bout with Miocic at UFC 295. On social media, he posted,

“The good news is that it’s about 10-week healing process.” regarding the elbow surgery.

“I’m out for months anyway because of this pec surgery, so just thought I’d kill two birds and get this elbow taken care of once and for all.”Resuming and continuing this healing process. I’m patient because sometimes you have to take tiny step back in order to go forward.
