Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and promising but difficult winger Jadon Sancho were unable to overcome their differences after their initial spat.
All it would have needed was a simple’sorry’ from Sancho.
Despite coaches and teammates’ pleas, Sancho’s stance remained unwavering until late December, when he refused to apologise to his manager for his social media outburst in early September.
Jadon Sancho apologised… to Dortmund.
Jadon Sancho appears to know how to say “sorry.” He simply opted not to.
A video posted on Borussia Dortmund’s Instagram page showed Sancho meeting players and staff behind the scenes at the German club.
It contained an exchange in which Sancho was chastised by staff for his actions.
Erik ten Hag will never believe it.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is probably past caring what Jadon Sancho has to say, but even he might be surprised to hear the word’sorry’ come out of the winger’s mouth.
United will be disappointed that the problem has progressed to this point, but they would not have expected such an immature response from Sancho over the past few months.
Now, with his transfer worth at rock bottom, he’s back at Dortmund, hoping to resurrect his career so that United can sell him without being too ashamed.
