Just In: Broncos confirm Yet Another Big Signing, A Gifted one at that

The Brisbane Broncos have confirmed the signing of forward Jack Gosiewski after his release from the North Qureensland Cowboys.

Backrower Jack Gosiewski has joined the Brisbane Broncos through to the end of the 2025 season.

The 29-year-old from Murwillumbah comes to the Broncos with 68 NRL appearances and 14 tries under his belt having made his debut in 2016 for the Rabbitohs before joining Manly in 2018 for four seasons.

He played a major role in the Sea Eagles’ run to the second week of finals in 2019 before moving onto the Dragons and then the Cowboys where he has played 12 NRL games since the start of the 2023 season.

With a reputation for hard work and being a good team man, Gosiewski will provide valuable depth to Brisbane’s forwards.

Gosiewski’s signing follows a host of his new teammates recommiting to the Broncos including Billy Walters, Ezra Mam, Payne Haas, Pat Carrigan, Jordan Riki, Brendan Piakura, Selwyn Cobbo, Kobe Hetherington, Jesse Arthars, Tyson Smoothy, Corey Jensen, Deine Mariner, Xavier Willison, Tristan Sailor and Blake Mozer.

Broncos Coach Kev Walters said: “Jack brings a good work ethic and an ability to play his role, so he will fit right in here with what we are building together at the Broncos.

“He will give us some extra depth in the forwards and if he puts the work in then I’m sure he will get some opportunities as we move into the season.”

Billy Walters: I'll butter him up and buy him an expensive Father's Day gift - ABC listen

The Broncos have confirmed they’ve signed hooker Billy Walters to a two-year extension, keeping him at Red Hill until at least the end of the 2026 season.

Walters, son of Brisbane coach Kevin, has really come of age over the past two seasons for the Broncos, stamping himself as a key piece of the star-studded team.

He has played in all but one game since the beginning of last season and has enjoyed a career resurgence since linking up with the Broncos before the 2022 season.

“I’m super stoked to stay – I didn’t’ want to go anywhere else and the Club was happy to keep me so it’s a good result,” Walters said via a club-issued statement.

I love playing here, the Broncos are the greatest club in the NRL and I’m just really grateful that they wanted to keep me around and I’m really happy to stay here for another two years.”

Kevin Walters said he and the club are “proud of the way Billy has improved his footy since joining the Broncos”.

“Some players get everything at their feet but Billy has had some injuries and some disappointment but he has stuck at it and worked really hard… and now he’s playing some good football for us and continuing to improve every week,” Walters said.

Jordan Riki Try

With this signing, the Broncos’ outstanding retention drive rolls on.

In addition to Walters, Brisbane have recently extended the likes of Ezra Mam, Payne Haas, Pat Carrigan, Jordan Riki, Brendan Piakura, Selwyn Cobbo and a handful of other players. Fullback Reece Walsh is reportedly close to signing a new deal of his own, said to be worth $5 million.

TIGERS SIGN ANOTHER PANTHER

The Tigers have continued their poaching raid on the Panthers with flyer Sunia Turuva inking a three-year deal with the Concord club from 2025.

“Wests Tigers is delighted to announce the signing of off-contract Panthers’ winger, Sunia Turuva, on a three-year deal,” the Tigers said in a statement.

The 21-year-old, who was NRL Rookie of the Year last season, will link up with Wests Tigers at the end of the 2024 season.
