Newcastle United has sent a strong message to Bayern Munich by publishing new photos of England star Kieran Trippier in training ahead of the Magpies’ match against Fulham this weekend.
Bayern has made both a loan and a cash offer for Trippier, but both have been rejected by United. The German giants have eight days to boost their bid, but Trippier is focused on the FA Cup.
The fresh images send a clear “he’s our player” message to Bayern, which Eddie Howe is expected to reiterate during his press conference on Friday.
The Magpies do not want to sell Trippier, but they realise they need to unload someone in January to alleviate FFP issues. Trippier’s contract expires in 2025, and after rejecting a £13 million bid, Newcastle risk receiving nothing for the 33-year-old at the end of his current agreement.
Another day of twists and turns in the window saw Newcastle’s Jamaal Lascelles linked with a transfer to Turkish club Besiktas. However, the captain has no plans to leave United in January and is content with his current situation.
The same might be said for Miguel Almiron, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. Newcastle have already stated that they do not want to lose Almiron.
CEO Darren Eales stated last season: “He’s just a great man to be around. He’s simply one among a group of players who are all working extremely hard.
