Pep Guardiola has announced that Erling Haaland would be included in Manchester City’s squad for their Premier League matchup against Burnley.
Due to a foot ailment, the Norwegian attacker has missed the previous ten games.
Despite Haaland’s return to training at the beginning of the month, City has exercised caution to allow the striker’s foot bone to heal correctly.
Before last Friday’s FA Cup victory over Tottenham, Guardiola indicated that Haaland was “on the verge” of returning, but the striker was not chosen. On Wednesday, the champions visit the Etihad to play Vincent Kompany’s City in an attempt to put pressure on Liverpool. Guardiola adds that Haaland will be featured.
We are unquestionably stronger when we have the entire squad, and Erling is a key member of that team. Even though it’s been a tough two months, he feels well.
“We have training tomorrow, but it looks like he’ll be with us all today.”
Guardiola made the remark following his confirmation that he will be playing for the team.
Manuel Akanji, who has recovered from a knee ailment, is also expected to rejoin the team.
He declared, “Manu [Akanji] is back.”
“It feels great that he trained yesterday and has no pain in his knee.”
