Christophe Galtier, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, has claimed he does not have to persuade Kylian Mbappe to remain with the team.
For the second consecutive season, the French champions were eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16, which raised new concerns regarding Mbappe’s future.
Mbappe declined the opportunity to join Real Madrid for free last summer, instead agreeing to a new two-year deal at PSG with a third-year option.

Los Blancos would prefer if Mbappe turned down his option to sign a contract extension so he could come for free in 2024, despite reports in Spain that the forward regrets his choice and wants them to make another offer for him.

In a question and answer session with the media on Friday, in advance of this weekend’s trip to Brest, Galtier was asked about Mbappe’s near future.
Galtier remarked, “I don’t have to attempt to persuade Kylian [to stay].
“Kylian has said it himself, but if you asked any of the other players, you would have discovered him in the same situation – quite sad after the elimination.

“Regarding Kylian, he plays for PSG and makes that clear in every match. He is really focused on doing well and succeeding so that he can help the club reach its highest level.”
After scoring in a 4-2 victory over Nantes at home last week, Mbappe passed Edinson Cavani to take the top spot on PSG’s all-time scoring list.
