Liverpool coach Pepijn Lijnders has expressed his delight at watching Curtis Jones prosper on a consistent basis.

Jones scored his fourth goal of the season with the help of a deflection in his 14th start of the season against Fulham at Anfield last Wednesday night.

The midfielder’s equaliser was immediately followed by a superb Cody Gakpo finish in front of the Kop, giving Jürgen Klopp’s side a 2-1 lead from the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Jones, who had previously scored twice in Liverpool’s last-eight defeat over West Ham United, has appeared in 32 of Liverpool’s 43 games since last April.
And Lijnders praised the Scouser’s rising influence on the team.
“I have to say, his development goes hand in hand with the team’s development, which began at the end of last year.”

“He’s always there; he’s this player who really leads with and without the ball.”

“He had an incredible [U21] Euros performance; in my opinion, he was the best player there.” He has a huge impact on the team, both with and without the ball.

“It’s really cool to see how he appears every time.” We are very thrilled and proud of him since he can contribute so much energy in every game.”
