The Dallas Cowboys may be prepared to execute one of the most surprising free-agent signings ever.
One of the biggest disappointments in free agency thus far is the Dallas Cowboys. Owner Jerry Jones vowed to go all in for a Super Bowl after the team’s startling elimination over the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card game, but thus far, there haven’t been many moves to show for it.
As a matter of fact, the Cowboys have already lost important players like wide receiver Michael Gallup, offensive tackle Tyron Smith, and linebacker Leighton Vander Esch to retirement.
Furthermore, quarterback Dak Prescott will not receive a contract extension before to the last year of his current deal, in one of the NFL’s most unexpected moves. Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb, incidentally, are also waiting for their big deals.
Elliott Ezekiel rejoins the Dallas Cowboys
With no big names signing during free agency, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in an unexpected situation where an unexpected name will return. Ian Rapoport has reported that Ezekiel Elliott is about to ink a $3 million, one-year contract.
Taking into account that Tony Pollard, who inked a three-year, $24 million contract with the Tennessee Titans, will not be playing running back for the team going forward, the choice makes sense. The Cowboys therefore required assistance at that position.
Ezekiel Elliott played for the New England Patriots last season after his unexpected release from the Dallas Cowboys, where he gained 642 yards and three scores.
