What a Smart Move: Tennessee Vols have Victoriously Snatched Him From Rivals

A “serious contender” for one of the best safeties in the 2025 recruiting class is now the Tennessee Vols.

Adam Gorney, national recruiting director for Rivals.com, mentioned on Monday that Georgia and Tennessee are vying for 2025 four-star safety Eric Winters.

Winters’ favorite has long been thought to be Auburn. Gorney, however, claims that Georgia and Tennessee are “charging up his list” and that they are now both “serious contenders” for the prized safety.

Winters, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound player from Enterprise, Alabama, is ranked No. 5 among players in the state of Alabama and No. 6 among safety nationwide by 247Sports. In addition, he is ranked as the 49th best player in the country overall.
Winters is also being considered for Miami.

Winters stated to 247Sports last week that Auburn and Georgia are the top two schools on his list.

But in late June, the native of Alabama is expected to pay a formal visit to Tennessee. Winters may quickly move Tennessee to the top of his list if that visit goes well.
